Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE my YakTrax Pro I have bought these each year for 5 years and thought it time I write a review. I am certain, living in the northeast, that the only reason I have survived some brutal icy winters the past few years is because I always have my Yaktrax's on! I have given them as Christmas gifts each year and everyone is hooked! I can literally walk without worry across an ice-filled driveway or up an icy incline. People always stop me and ask how I can move without fear and I always share with pride! Highly recommend for young or old - if you are an active person living in the north in the winter...these are a must have! I have one pair in the house and one pair in the car.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Been using for more than 10 years I use these for trekking back and forth to the barn during snowy/icy weather. The first two pairs I got each lasted about four years and were great. In the last couple of years, I've had problems with the wires coming loose and snagging the carpet runner when I put them on and prepare to go outside. I'm ordering yet another pair, but if I have the same problem with this pair, I may need to look around for another alternative. Other than that, they are great, although they aren't necessarily foolproof on solid ice or in light, fluffy snow. Care is still required.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Game changers I purchased YakTrax this last weekend. My partner and I went to Starved Rock State Park for our 10 year anniversary. We did not realize that it was so icy and you basically could not do any hiking. The stairs getting to the trails were just covered in ice and way to slippery and dangerous. We saw another couple with the YakTrax and they highly recommended them. We purchased them and they were game changers. We were able to hike around the park without any hesitation. We saw a lot of people turning around because they were slipping so badly on the ice. When we saw people in just boots we would recommend purchasing the YakTrax since they SAVED our trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from xmas gift Our daughter gave both myself and my wife these GREAT safety items. It could not have been at a better time, the day after Xmas, we had snow and ice. Since we just received a new dog in August and have walked him two/three times per day, the Trax worked perfect every day. I have recommended them to all the other dog walkers every time I see them. THANKS for such a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I discovered these 4 or 5 years ago. So impressed, I bought $400 worth to give to friends & family at Christmas. My daughter used them immediately to jog in snow/ice. She has been using the same pair since-just recently in Portland Oregon's heavy snow (Jan 2017). I use mine to walk 1-2 miles each time it snows(not every year). I feel very safe wearing them. I saw YakTrax selling at the Tigard, Oregon Costco in November, where I bought n extra pair to keep in my car.. If wearing hiking boots, buy a size larger, because they can be difficult to stretch in place.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Yak Trax Pro I bought a set of these about 6 weeks ago. I had a pair of the original Yak Traks that were given to me 10 years ago. The lasted for 9 years with no issues until finally the rubber broke on a couple of the bands. I was very happy with those. the sttel coils never broke and they worked reall well. So I bought the pro series this year and they are total garbage. If you wanted to use them once or twice to walk 5o to 75 yards they'll probably hold up. But if you intend to use them several times throughout a winter and for more than one season you better buy something else.. These things are total garbage compared to the originals. The steel coils kept breaking, the ends would start coming unwound, they don't stay on your boots well. Just total junk!! I'll look somewhere else and find a quality product. Don't know what you guys did to these things to ruin what you once had for quality but anyone who once to use them on a regular basis will be sorely disappointed in the quality of these things!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yaktrax are awesome1 My wife and I live in Northern Illinois and we've been having freezing rain and ice storms on top of snow since January 2nd. I'll always remember that date because I slipped and fell on black ice in my driveway dislocating and breaking the ulna in my left elbow, putting me out of work for a few months and all but eliminating use of my left arm for the duration. An extraordinary number of our friends and coworkers have fallen on ice recently. About half have broken bones and there's more freezing rain predicted for tomorrow. I'm from Arizona and was not acquainted with the problem so I decided to do something before I fall a third time (the second fall was a painful setback for the broken elbow). My wife was born and raised up here and assumed that cumbersome spiked boots were the only products available. Fortunately, she was wrong. The Woodstock Farm and Fleet had the Yaktrax Pros on sale so I bought us both a pair. Then, using only my left arm, my roof shingle scraper (which btw is far better than the ice chopper) and my new Yaktrax Pros, I was able to safely stand on and scrape off the thick, glare ice on the steeply sloped street entrance of my driveway. Prior to that it had been too dangerous for me, too thick for salt and treacherous for anyone parking on the street to walk on. One of thei really cool features is that you can leave them on while you're driving and walk up wood or concrete steps--even icey ones--to get in and out of the house. It is easier to take off the boots than the Yakrax, especially for a one armed man. My wife was skeptical at first but having use them, she's telling all her friends and relatives, just like I've been doing... GA Woodstock, Illinois

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked well for 2-3 weeks, then quickly wore out. I walk my dog 4+ miles per day in typical Minnesota conditions. The asphalt paved walking path is generally covered with packed snow and ice with occasional patches of bare pavement. I was very impressed with the actually traction performance, but it wasn't long before a number of the rubber bands broke, and/or the metal coil apparently wore through and also broke. Too bad really, the traction was great with no slips, but the durability was very poor.
