Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job with a small footprint After a lot of research I bought two of the 600's for my 42ft boat. I keep the boat in the water all winter in the Northern Chesapeake and have used the Xtreem heaters for two winters. I'm not sure they take the pace of winterizing your engines, but I know they keep my engine room and my large lazerette above freezing even during 20 degree weather. I have a boat monitor that tells me the temp. on the boat and alerts me when it goes below 35 degrees. Never had an alert and most times the temp was at least in the 40's. These are nice small units that don't take much room. Make sure you block the vents to your heated space (where it's safe to do so) so cold air can't compete with the heater. These may be a little expensive, but they are a whole lot less expensive than a manifold cracked from freezing, or a boat that sinks because the bilge pump froze.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 13 year old Xtreme Marine Heaters still working! We have used Xtreme Marine Engine Heaters for the past 12 years and don’t winterize our boat. Highly recommend Xtreme Heaters, they have been very reliable over the past 13 years. We purchased an additional heater due to buying a larger boat. Our original 13 year old heaters are still going strong!

I have an xterm heater and I want to confirm how it operates. I just bought the boat and it has this heater. It has a red and green light on the unit. Is the red light the power on light and the green light comes on/flashes when the unit is heating

Asked by: Dave
Green is on and when ready it will flash when power is applied then stays steady. Red is heating and it will turn to orange when in cool down mode.

I own a Cobalt 226 that hangs in a slip(out of the water) on Cedar Creek Lake in Tool, Texas(75 miles SE of Dallas). What size heater should I have?

Asked by: jim
We would need the size of area you are trying to heat before we could answer that, please call tech support at 1-888-683-7866 and we would be happy to assist you.
