Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeds Expectations I purchased this to protect my boat motor from freezing temperatures when stored on a boat lift on a lake in Georgia, during the winter off season. It's automatic so I could leave the boat unattended for months at a time at my summer home. It worked great and paid for itself in one season in haul out/winterizing/labor costs. The real surprise was my canvas lift cover finally failed and allowed the spring rain to flood my engine compartment enough to have the unit submerged for weeks until my return. I drained the water floated the boat and ran around the lake for a few days. When dry, I tested it in my house freezer, and viola! Worked first time perfectly! Absolutely incredible USA quality!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hope the power stays on when I need it The fan on mine started slow then screeched loudly as it spun up. Maybe it had been sitting for months before it was shipped out for use, but it doesn't give me confidence it will work when heat is called for. I could see 4-5 years down the road doing something like that, but for the price these things go for, it should be 100% when it's new out of the box. I'll probably conatct the manufacturer to see what they say about it.

I have an I/O and would like to know if there are suggestions as to where and how to mount the heater for most effective results.

Asked by: Anonymous
There are mounting screws in the box with the heater. Screw down heater above the water line. Boats with a stern drive we would like to see the heater mounted towards the back of the compartment blowing to the out drive and the back of the motor .Boats with V Drives please blow the exhaust towards the transmissions.
