Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have If you have been using a crank boat winch like I have for years, stop. Install a Trac Electric Trailer Winch and you will be glad you did. It takes the use of some common tools, regular mechanic skills and about a half hour to install. My Trac Electric Winch made a huge difference in retrieving my boat. Yes, I would recommend this product to anyone. Overton is the place to purchase, friendly, helpful, and shipped before promised date.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Easy install, worked like it said" I wanted a affordable electric trailer winch that's easy to install, I bought a battery tray and bolted it to the trailer frame, took off the old hand winch and bolted this right to the same spot on the frame, hooked up the wires to the battery like it says and pluged it in, works just like it suppose to, I have a 21 foot Thompson Fisherman, I can load that boat by myself, no problem and not break a sweat, its that easy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Broke after 6 Months I use this for my boat, it makes a lot of noise out of the box and it started to burn the last time I used it. I have a 23' boat and the winche is supposed to handle it. Either I have a defective item or it is junk. I will not recommend this at this time. However if Trac lives up to the warranty and replaces it with a winch that works correctly, i am sure to do so.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Winch I returned the winch as I found several problems with the unit. The folks at Overtons were friendly and helpful. I explained the problems with the unit and hope Overton folks investigate their product representation before carrying a particular line. I have purchased a "Power Winch" from another retailer and have found it to be a superior unit to that of Trac.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent product. From the very first time I used this I was thoroughly satisfied with it's performance. No more back breaking cranking. It could be easier to install though. Unless you really know what your doing, replacing a hand crank all by yourself is not what I would recommend. But I look forward to pulling my boat from the lake without any exhaustion from now on.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great price ....good product The product seems to be satisfactory. Time will tell about its durability. It is so popular that it was backordered for several weeks. It eventually arrived and was relatively easy to install. The best thing is the price compared to other similar items in your catalog. Folks on the phone were very friendly and helpful. Will do business with you again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Winch I have purchased this winch before for use on my other boats. I like the winch and the remote control feature is great! I've had a problem with one of the winches and the manufacturer took quick action to rush a new replacement winch to me. I highly recommend the product and the Trac Company. I would buy this winch again.

I need an electric winch to slowly lift and slowly lower a 350 lb sailboat keel. Requirements: wireless remote control, power up and down (i.e. it has to slowly let the line out), not cost more than a few hundred dollars. It doesn't have to be super strong cause the boat uses a pair of triple pullies. It is a Holder 20 sailboat. I am not strong enough to crank it up anymore: too many birthdays.
Asked by: Steve
This winch would suffivce as it has a 3,500 lb vertical lift capacity. and it has wireless remote.

When connecting the positive and negative cable to the battery, do you need to install the circut breaker (that comes with the winch) or a fuse between the positive cable end and the battery?

Asked by: JJ
yes or it will eventually burn up the motor especially if you have a very good battery.
