Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST Backpack I have EVER Purchased! I'm a college student (who happens to be very broke) and decided to spoil myself by purchasing a nice, expensive backpack. I went with the Borealis Black w/ Patches (I chose not to buy the women's version only because I prefer thicker bands on the shoulder). It's AMAZING - there's so many pockets, the side mesh pockets for drinks can expand to fit my 40oz. Hydroflask. It is also expandable to accomodate more things - for me, this means it's easier to bring a binder, laptop, and textbook to class than ever before. I will be using it full-time in the fall, once I go back to school - and I'm 100% looking forward to it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome Backpack This is my very first North Face backpack and I must say, I'm very impressed with it. I love the design of it and it's super sturdy. I'm the type of person that typically packs a lot (jacket, phone, chargers, laptop, books, ect.) and this backpack seems to be a bit small to me. I also tried to put my 15.4" HP laptop in it and it was a super tight fit. It didn't stick out or anything, it was just really tight in the sleeve that's in the backpack. Other than that, I love the material it's made out of and just the overall backpack in general. I can tell it is well worth the money invested in it. My only cons are the limited amount of space and the laptop sleeve space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy, Well Built Bag I mainly use this bag as my EDC bag for work. The build quality is great. The material and zippers are very durable and should hold up well to many years of use/abuse. There are plenty of pockets and orginazition. The shoulder straps are well padded and the sternum strap helps to distribute the load during hikes. I have been a fan of TNF products for years and have never had any issues with any of their products and I'm sure this backpack will surely stand up to the test of time as well. I highly recommend this bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have finally found the PERFECT bag for college/traveling! Every college kid needs this bag. My initial thought about the bag when I first saw it was that it is not big enough. I was quickly proven wrong. It is so spacious, you'll never have to worry about your computer, textbooks, materials, etc. not fitting. The amount of room this practical, compact bag provides makes it well worth the price. Excellent built quality. Having lots of pockets for all my smaller materials/belongings is also a great feature. The straps have a sturdy rugged built and they're comfortable, unlike my previous bag. This product is going double as a great travel carry-on, for I will be able to pack plenty of clothes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer beware!, I purchased this same product TWICE, yes twice for my son for school. The first one lasted 6 months when the mesh side pocket he keeps his water bottle developed a hole. The second one lasted 5 months when the same thing happened!! Just a basic Camelbak water bottle was kept in there, nothing more. I have received terrible treatment from warranty. Telling me it's considered "regular wear and tear". To me that's an out for them to not stand behind their product. And for silly Mom's like myself to make the same mistake twice by repurchasing means more money for TNF! Simply put, TNF is not making the quality products they did even 5 years ago and the problem is you once had that awesome "life time warranty" that made customers like myself want to come back. Now, after a decade plus....I'm officially done :( My local store staff were always pleasant and provided such excellent customer service it has been a pleasure to shop there but, the treatment from Warranty is a deal breaker, sorry!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really solid I use this backpack for work. I drive half the time and commute on the metro rail the other half. Either way there's still a walk and it's convenient to store my laptop and all other necessities. My only gripe is that it can't seem to stand on its own and has to be laid on its back or leveraged a certain way. Other than that, really phenomenal. Great colors, feel, and very lightweight. I would definitely recommend. Considering the price, I think it is fairly expensive but my hope is that the trade off is something long lasting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gift For Ex-Boyfriend First, I'd like to address that the backpack I bought for myself (Jester) was a 5/5 stars. The only reason this backpack has 4/5 stars is because it's not good enough for a boyfriend of 3 years. The North Face has high quality products that will last a long time if you take care of it, much like a relationship. If you're going to buy a product for someone and you two aren't in a good position, maybe aim for a carton of ice cream, because that's what you'll need if you buy them this. If I kept this backpack I'd definitely give it a 5/5. Durable- unlike my relationship. Sturdy- unlike my relationship. Built to last IF you take care of it- crazy because I took care of my relationship but people and backpacks are two different things, ya know? Anyway, yes buy this product for yourself, parent, or child only.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality, longevity, overall great backpack I have been using this backpack from 4th grade until my senior year of college (16th grade). I have nothing but good things to say about this bag! I also use this as my "adventure backpack". So far, there is not a single rip/tear on the bag, and all of the original zippers, buckles, and straps are still in working order. I have taken this bag mountain biking, snow skiing, traveling in and outside of the US, and it has been used for school 200+ days a year. That is a lot of abuse, and the borealis bag doesn't show it at all! Invest in a quality piece like this, and it'll outlast 10 of the cheap alternatives! I would absolutely recommend this bag, I have gotten a dozen years of use and I plan to get a dozen more. Thanks North Face!
