Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Charger I've Ever Owned! I had one that I used every 2-3 days to charge a deep cycle battery on a trailer that operates a 1000lb electric/hydraulic tailgate. Someone stole it from the storage box on my trailer, and I bought an Everstart today because walmart didn't have another Stanley. HATE THE EVERSTART! Charging my battery very slowly vs. my old Stanley so I order another Stanley online and take this Everstart back! The fan on this Everstart is screaming, and I've never heard the fan on the Stanley. The Amps adjust within seconds on the Stanley to the batteries, current state of charge. I've used it several times to charge the battery on my Polaris ATV and NEVER overheated or boiled over. Love the LCD sceen, and have never had any trouble reading it. The Stanley does stop charging if you push the button to check the amps...but that's the only way to get an truly accurate reading. After you get your info, simply press the "Charge" button to resume charging. I've never had to unplug my charger to reset anything. I like the two grab handles on the front.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good so far If I would have read the reviews here first I probably wouldn't have tried it but I did. The model I have is one if the earlier models. I I found it in an empty house I was getting ready to be renovated. I have used it to recondition several 12v 4 amp hour deep cycle batteries with good results. I've also used it to recondition the motor battery and deep cycle battery for my motorhome. I have used the engine start feature yet but I'm pretty sure that I will have good results when I do. The people here that gave it bad reviews may have gotten defective units and are just too impatient to return them to the manufacturer for another. You know how it goes, you'll never hear a word when you do something right but make a mistake and you'll hear about it 5 times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Got me out of a jam! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I was home alone and needed to get to my moms house since she wasn't feeling to well. I went to start my car and my battery was weak. I called my husband and he walked me through starting my car with the start jump feature. I followed his directions and this little thing started my car with no problems. So glad my husband asked for this for his birthday present. He loves your tools really takes care of all of his items. I would love to win to be able to give this to him. Thanks

Rated 1 out of 5 by from worthless Worked the first time I used it after purchase. Didn't need it again until 6 months later. It won't charge higher than 4amps unless you use startup. It won't display battery percentage. And I find it odd that the manual 'warns' against charging 18 hours, but it takes at least 18 hours to charge any 12v battery. I have tested on several different batteries and the results are always the same. This thing is nothing more than an extremely overpriced float charger at best.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fooled me twice Bought this about 2 years ago, to replace a similar other brand, that was destroyed in a house fire. I only used it once to check and charge my boat starting battery, that showed fully charged. A couple of weeks ago, my motorcycle only made a clicking noise when I tried to start it. So, I hooked up my booster battery, and it did the same thing. Finally, I connected my Stanley charger to charge the battery, but it said it was fully charged. After reading some blogs on the internet about starter failures and since this was a fairly new battery, I ordered a new starter for my motorcycle and spent 3 days replacing it. Once I had the motorcycle back together, I tried starting it again and had the same problem, just a clicking noise. In the mean time, while working on my motorcycle, my neighbor borrowed it to charge a battery on a car that he had in storage for a couple of years. He told me that the charger showed fully charged when he connected it, which could not be, since his lights would just barely glow. At this point, I went and bought a cheap battery and put in my motorcycle and it started fine. I had SUCKER written all over my face. All this time and money spent to replace a perfectly good starter and battery, just to find the problem all along, was just a defective battery charger. Not a happy camper. Unfortunately the charger was defective when new and now it was out of warranty. Lesson learned

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Battery Charger This unit has been a huge help for maintaining my vehicle batteries. In particular I appreciate the trickle charge feature to keep the battery in my car that I don't drive often charged and fresh.
