Additional Information
For over 230 years, the name Springfield Armory has been associated with proven combat arms. This storied tradition continues with the SOCOM 16 CQB. A modernized descendant of the distinguished M14 and M1A rifles, the SOCOM 16 CQB is designed for serious defensive use as its Close Quarters Battle name implies. Nearly ten inches shorter than the M1A standard model, the CQB offers quick and easy handling for defensive use indoors or out. The stock has five positions of adjustment with an adjustable cheekpiece for comfort during benchrest shooting. The integral M-Lok rail system provides for nearly unlimited accessory options. The front sight is an XS Post with a tritium insert and a .125" blade. The rear is a ghost ring aperture with MOA adjustment for both windage and elevation. The authoritative .308 chambering won't leave you wanting more fight-stopping effectiveness.

Will it accept a 30 round magazine? if so what brand? And are the magazines a common magazines that would cross over to other .308 chambered rifles?

Asked by: Texas Steve
Springfield makes a 20-round magazine, but I don't believe there's a 30-round magazine available. The magazine is proprietary. http://store.springfield-armory.com/shop/pc/7-62MM-20-ROUND-MAGAZINE-58p151.htm

Are telescopic stocks legal in Illinois ?

Asked by: Jimmy
Yes. Telescopic stocks are legal on the state-level. However, Chicago, Cook County more broadly, and most of the surrounding suburbs of Chicago have assault weapons bans in place which make this particular firearm ineligible for purchase. Since the laws in the state vary so significantly, we would recommend contacting local law-enforcement officials before attempting to buy any firearm with tactical-style features.
