Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Gun After watching a few videos on this particular gun, I knew this one was for me. While I was at a local gun store I seen this setting in the case for used guns and I purchased it right away. I knew if I let it go it may not be there the next day. I now see why they call this gun a pocket cannon. I typically use 38 special for the range but tried out some 357 magnum 125 grain Hornady XTP one day. This gun is no joke with magnum rounds in it. I had folks on both sides of me at the range stop and ask what I was shooting. With both types of rounds in it I had no issue hitting the target at 25 yards. Ruger has done it again with another great firearm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ruger SP101 Researched for many month and shot may different compact revolvers and this was the best fit for me. I use this for a back up conceal carry and am very pleased with the guns concealed ability and the power it has. Comfortable gun to shoot even though I did change out the handle to make it more manageable. Its a very well constructed gun and will be more than willing to put it in my arsenal to protect my family and myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from VERY Nice Revolver!! I just got my SP 101 and took it to the range. It is surprisingly comfortable with full magnum loads. Don't get me wrong. There is some jump to it but it is certainly manageable when using a firm grip. After having owned an SP 101 many years ago and having carried autoloaders for many years I decided to go back to this particular wheelgun. The SP 101 is simple, very strongly built, is easy to shoot, clean and maintain and can digest any round you may want to put through it. The trigger is a bit heavy but smooth. I highly recommend the SP 101 for anyone who's looking for power, strength and simplicity in a defensive handgun.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Work in Progress I bought the SP101 after months of reading reviews on good concealable revolvers, and everything I read was true for the Pros and Cons of this firearm. It has good weight for handling magnum loads but the trigger and hammer are heavy. I ordered a spring kit and polished all of the internal working parts and now she feels smooth as glass along with the lighter hammer and trigger pull. I think this will be a very trusty sidearm for years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I bought the .357 magnum version for home defense and concealed carry. After my first 100 rounds, I found it to be incredibly accurate. My only real experience with handguns was in the Military Police Corps. So this was my first time with a .357. I managed to put 80/100 rounds on a human silhouette at 10 yards. The weapon does kick like a mule and the grip is a little small for my large hands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, Accurate Revolver! A perfect combination of size, weight, power, and accuracy. The Ruger SP101 is a strong and solidly built gun that will last a lifetime. I have the 3 1/16" model in .357 Magnum and it's great! The SP101 and a Randall-Made knife are the two items I always make sure are in my field bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from strong and solid Gun shot great right out of the box. This gun is heavy, but when looking at similar others felt too light and not made as solid as the ruger. I did change the grips, making the gun feel like it was apart of my hand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gun for the money, fun to shoot!!! Guys you want a fun and reliable gun, then get one. The picture shows one without hammer but ours has a hammer(wifes gun). She wanted one of the cheaper rugers but when we were in the store I told the guy to go get this one. It felt like it was worth the money. I am a huge fan of the Springfield XDs but this set me to like Rugers again. Bottom line, BUY IT!!!!DONT THINK TWICE

Why is the description saying the capacity of the SP101 is a 5 capacity revolver but the picture is showing a 6 rd cyclinder? The Gander store in Dothan, Al only has a 5 shot SP101 revolver and I don't think Ruger makes a 6 shot revolver unless the GP100.

The picture is of a older .327. The .327 is a six shot revolver. You can also tell it’s a older pictures because it has a true rear sight.
