Additional Information
Features
This All-American pump gun brings hunters the best of all worlds. Beneath no-nonsense, ready-for-work exterior of the Model 870 Express lies the same quality, precision, and dependability that you'll find in our legendary Model 870 Wingmaster, but at a much more affordable price. Like all Model 870 shotguns, this workhorse features a receiver milled from a solid billet of steel for maximum strength and reliability. The silky-smooth twin action bars prevent binding and twisting so that you'll always have the chance to get off a second shot. Appropriately dressed for the hunt and not for the wall, each shotgun sports non-reflective black matte metalwork and a satin-finished wood or laminate stock. Both the 12- and 20-gauge models are offered with your choice of a 26- or 28-inch vent-rib barrel with a Modified Rem Choke and single bead sight.

Great Farm Gun
The 870 a tuff gun it been use as a padle, walking stick, been thrown in tool box. fell out of the tractor and got plowed under and found 3 mounth later receiver was rusted shut beat it with a hammer to free the action. After all this the gun still shots and put meat on the table. I own other gun but 870 will last.. 1200 dallor gun are nice but can those gun be ran over and plowed under dont think so. The best part is replacement parts are cheap and easy to fix.

love it
I got this gun through a pheasants forever banquet and could not be happier with it. I have used for deer hunting, and pheasant hunting with the intention of taking it water fowl hunting if possible. I wouldn't buy anything else for a shot gun and am looking to buy a 12 gauge. As for home protection i would love to see the persons face when they here the sound of a round being chambered.

i love it
this is a great all around shotgun that will do the job of many. i used this gun for 3 years hunting everything to squirrel to ducks until i graduated to a 12 ga. i never had a problem with this gun it fed any load without a hick-up and never missed fired. it is a breeze to remove the barrel and clean. the only thing i wished it came with, was some sling mounts.

Good gun for great price
I bought this shotgun with Christmas money as my first shotgun (owned by me, not borrowed from my dad) a few years back. Great starter, and I look forward to passing it down to my son. A lot of fun to shoot and hunt small game with.

best all around gun for the price, not to big, not to small and it has Old Craftmanship in a new piece. it does well for what I want to teach gun safety to my grandson.

Not The Best Experience
The gun could not be initially assembled as the bolt was stuck midway in the receiver. Remington service suggested that I return the gun to Gander Mountain to see if they could fix it, and if not, to send it in for warranty work. The Gander staff were very helpful and were able assemble the gun after dropping the trigger assembley. I will continue to support Gander but I doubt that will buy another Remington.

good waterfowl, upland, and trap shotgun
on my 13th birthday i got the remington 870 in 20ga for shooting trap and hunting, i have become a better shot because of this gun. i have 3 other friends who have them to and they say the same thing i said, light weight, good mechanism, and accurate. the only thing that my friends find hard is putting the forearm slide. but once you do it once or twice its pretty easy.
