The Lew's Mach Speed Spool SLP Series Baitcasting Reel sets the standard for what a reel in this price range can be. SLP stands for Super Low Profile, an exclusive platform that results in a 10% overall reduction in reel size through cutting-edge engineering, styling, and performance. The benefits of the reel are the same; there's just less of it there. The graphite frame and side plates are strong and lightweight, and the quick-release side plate lock lever allows for easy adjustments. 95mm bowed, anodized aluminum handle with Lew's SoftTouch custom paddle knobs makes for a comfortable day of reeling in fish.
Inside the reel is a premium 10-bearing drive system with double-shielded stainless steel bearings and a Zero-Reverse anti-reverse clutch bearing for smooth retrieves. Externally-adjustable Magnetic Control System (MCS) provides accurate casting, and the durable Rulon drag system offers up to 15 lbs. of drag power to stop fish in their tracks. Other features include a machined and anodized aluminum U-shaped spool, high-strength solid brass main gear and crank shaft, and double-anodized aluminum spool tension cap with audible click.
