Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I was looking forward to getting these. I have 2 pair of the Tac Pros and have been very happy with them. I thought the vented headband and Bluetooth features would make a good product better, I was wrong. I wear hearing protection 8-10 hours per day several days a week. With the Tac500's I can even get a couple hours of comfortable wear before I have to change back to my Tac Pro's. The problem is the pressure they put on the ears, the squeezing makes the ears hurt. The ear cups are also smaller than the Tac Pro's, my ear lobe prevents the foam cup from fully enclosing the ear. I don't have big ears and the Tac Pro's didn't have this problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke in same spot as other reviews reported! Bought the Tactical Sport 500 to replace another set of Peltors (Sport 100) that broke in the same spot on the headband that many others have reported, thinking that the more expensive model would have solved this problem. I love the noise reduction, love the comfort, love the ability to communicate clearly with my students while wearing them, and wear them several days a week for much of the day in my profession as a firearms instructor. However, they broke in exactly the same place again! The plastic piece that connects the headband to the ear cup failed and the cup no longer seals. So now they're useless. And I haven't even had them that long. Come on, Peltor, listen to your customers and fix this!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great ear protection, HORRIBLE comfort. I am a very petite woman and have trouble finding ear protection that forms a good seal around my ears. I was very excited to try the Peltor 500s because I had been told the ear cups are a little smaller than most. The ear cups are great! They seal well and the electronics provide excellent protection. BUT the headband makes these absolute torture to wear. I don't have a large head, quite the opposite and I could not tolerate wearing these for longer than about 15 minutes. So much potential but sadly they do no good if they're not comfortable and I'm constantly taking them off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing Quality & Features, HORRIBLE headband I love the way this unit attenuates gunfire, airtools, industrial noise while allowing clear speech & bluetooth device access to my cellphone & laptop. I can listen to music while working outside but still answer phone calls or talk to crew members locally but..... This has the most uncomfortable headband I have ever worn. The ribs literally dig divots into my scalp! I am frantically trying to figure out if another Peltor model's headband can be adapted to my Sport Tactical 500s

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fell apart in 3 months These worked great for 3 months and then they fell apart. I'm a USAF retired veteran (AFSC 2A617A "Jet Engine Specialist") who has used aIl kinds of hearing protection throughout my career. I bought these for my current job testing Jet Engines at a test facility that requires hearing protection. I thought these were a major upgrade with the new technology that we currently have but I was wrong. I have the same issue that everyone else is having. Mine broke around the earpiece on both side These things break way too easy for a 3M product. Very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Headband and Earmuff Mount Design I bought this product 2/21/18. I wear these daily in an Fabrication Facility. I was really dissatisfied with the comfort of the Headband and ear cups. Ordered aftermarket products to subdue these issues. In November after wearing these for 40+ hours a week the mounts for the Ear Muffs failed. And have gotten progressively worse over time. Now they are to the point where it doesn't hold pressure on to your head. I wish you had replacement parts available for the ear muffs mounts

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great protection Terrible comfort I have had the Peltor Tac 500 ear muffs for a year now and wear them most weekends while shooting at the range. The electronics are fantastic you can carry out conversations like you had no muffs on at all. The sound is directional giving even more natural feel. All this is ruined by the comfort of the ear muffs. For a man with no hair the headband scratches against your skin to the point you feel your head is being cut. Even wearing a cap they are still uncomfortable a woolen beanie helps

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ear Magic I shoot about 500 rounds per week. I've have tried many different ear protection systems. The PELTOR brand (3M) has never let me down. Therefore, when I got into match shooting and it was necessary both protect my ears and hear the Match Officers commands, I looked to PELTOR. This set is remarkable. Superb suppression and clear conversation. The Blue tooth "bells & whistles" are fun too. I use mine in the shop as much as on the range to listen to music or the news from my iPhone. Yes, you can take phone calls on it. Finally the built in talking lady are a sure way to know the status of the device.
