Additional Information
Be prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws your way with the Marmot Featherless Component Jacket. Revolutionary 3M Thinsulate Featherless insulation in the liner jacket - equal to 700-fill power - is designed to closely mimic the look and performance of natural down with two times the loft when wet and without the allergens. This unique, loose-fill synthetic insulation is every bit as lightweight as natural down, breathes easily, and provides extreme warmth for extreme conditions. Wear the insulating liner on its own or zip into the Marmot MemBrain waterproof/breathable outer shell to create a powerhouse of protection on the trails, in the forest, or around town. Fully seam-taped to further keep out moisture, the double-layer shell jacket features an adjustable, attached hood; full-length front zipper; Velcro-adjustable cuffs; and a drawcord-adjustable elastic hem. Angel-Wing Movement allows a full range of motion in the arms so the jacket doesn't ride up. Zippered hand pockets and an internal zip pocket provide secure storage for all your essentials. Shell: 100% nylon oxford fabric. Liner: 100% nylon double mini-ripstop fabric. Regular fit. 31.5" center-back length. Weight: 12.3 oz. Imported.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional in Every Way!! I purchased this jacket for our 3 week family vacation in Western Europe after Christmas. The jacket performed perfectly, the fit and quality was perfect and it was extraordinarily warm and flexible. Most days/nights I wore both jackets together. But there were times when I dropped the rain jacket and just wore the puffer. To be honest I'm disappointed I did not purchase this years ago as it is perfect for winter travel!! Marmot is a superior brand. You will be very satisfied with your purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect. This is a very good jacket overall. It’s very warm, and seems very well made. I love the 3 in one component where I can remove the inner coat and wear that on its own. My only real gripes are with the attachment points between the inner coat and the outer shell. The system for the arms allows the inner coat to move too much which allows the outer shell to slide up a little every time I put the jacket on. It’s a minor inconvenience, but every time I put the jacket on I have to pull the outer shell down about an inch around my wrists. Also there is no connection between the two pieces at the neck. I think this would be my perfect jacket if these two areas were addressed. Overall I am very happy with the coat though as it keeps me warm and gives me some flexibility in use with the different ways it can be worn. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Jack of all trades, master of none! The Featherless component jacket was a bad choice for me for a number of reasons. Firstly, with the inner jacket attached, the jacket is quite bulky. Secondly, when they are attached, you can see the ridges of the inner jacket right through the smooth exterior jacket which makes it look like your wearing a jacket on top of a bubble coat. Lastly, the inner sleeves are not well anchored into place and often come popping out of the exterior sleeve opening, so you see the blue interior coat's sleeve emerging from the red jacket's sleeves. In general, I'm a big fan of Marmot, but this was not a winner for me! It is warm, windproof and waterproof, it's just not winning any points on the style meter...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm as Can Be This jacket was great for skiing as I always felt warm even when it was 5 degrees cold

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Warm and versatile jacket with one major flaw Jacket fits well and is really warm. Jacket works well together and as separate components. The only really annoying thing is that there should be more snaps to hold insulating inner jacket to outer shell jacket. When you pull your arm out, the inner layer always feels like it is going to pull out with it. Overall, jacket is very warm

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sufficiently lightweight and very warm! I purchased this for something that could function for light backpacking trips as well as day-to-day use in Ohio. Wonderful for that purpose, plenty warm. Would probably be a little too bulky for more intense backpacking, but for weekend trips that aren't particularly technical it's wonderful. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Made, Warm Jacket This jacket is awesome, I have warn this jacket in -2 degrees Fahrenheit, before the wind chill, and it kept me nice and warm. It also does a great job at blocking the wind, I've been out 25mph sustained winds with gusts of over 50mph; the jacket did an outstanding job blocking the wind. There are also a lot of small details that were put into this jacket, which are what takes it to the next level for me. First, the pockets on both jackets are lined with polyester, which kept me warm even when I wasn’t wearing gloves. There is also a zip pocket on both jackets inside the left breast, which is where I keep my phone and extra camera batteries so they stay warm and the batteries last longer when I'm out in the cold. Since this pocket has a zipper, I don’t have to worry about losing anything from this pocket. Speaking of zippers, the outer shell has a nice pull tab which makes it easy to grab to zip up and unzip the jacket even when wearing thick snow gloves. Finally, the hood on the outer shell had a nice cinch pull on the back of the hood. When tightened, it kept the hood in place even during high winds but was comfortable at the same time. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Featherless Component system I really like this jacket. It is super warm and does what it is suppose to. The sizing was a little off though. The newer marmot gear tends to run a little smaller than it use to. The featherless jacket again is great with or without the outer component. It is a tad heavy. I know it will be a bit before the weight goes down on the featherless coats. Overall very happy with the purchase quality, function, and form all intact.
