Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid build Great build quality and worth the money if you go camping a lot. I camp a lot in the Canadian bush in fall and it holds up nicely, however, I wish that there was either a colour option or a replacement tent cover so that it could be a little less...bold...wherever I am camping; bright orange isn't the prettiest colour to have when you're trying to immerse yourself into the landscape and its such a shame. I've read online that there are quite a few people trying to dye the colour or find a replacement that would fit. It would be great if Marmot could continue the old limelights dark green coloured tarp which I would gladly pay for and I'm sure many others would too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Think Twice If You Are Tall I have camped in this once so far, seems like quality construction. Easy to put up and quite a few nice features. Only complaint is that the floor dimensions are smaller than advertised. At 6’7” every inch of length counts. This is advertised as 88” long, measures 84” in reality. For me that is the difference between being able to sleep straight in the tent which would allow for a second person and having to sleep at an angle turning it into a strictly single person tent. Frustrated that the advertised length is incorrect but this is a common problem with tent manufacturers. 4” will not make a difference to most people.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid tent! Long Lasting [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Most gear reviews fail to capture the longevity of a product, because they either are getting reviewed immediately after purchase, or product names change too frequently, or the user fails to do so after years of use. We bought a previous incarnation of this tent YEARS ago and it has been through everything; wilderness, car camping, canoeing, backpacking, music festivals, canyons, etc; from diapers through into the teenage years. If you want something to last, this tent will do the job!!! I would buy a new one, but the old one is working great!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice features for the price Got this for a backcountry trip and love it. It's big enough for 2 6-foot tall men, and our camping backpacks fit in the vestibule area on either side. 2 doors is a nice touch and it was lighter than my buddies 3-person tent. 1 person can set it up in less than 5 minutes and only the vestibules really need to be staked it. O did bend a stake the first day I had it trying to get into hard rock ground. It was a nice touch that it includes a perfectly sized tarp however it does NOT cover the vestibule areas, only the main tent area. It seems to have attracted bugs, bug I used it the first night after buying it so it may just need to air out. I am also looking into some tent bug spray to take care of the problem. Also invest in a 2 person emergency blanket and use it on the bottom of the tent, it really helps keeping the cold out. Hope you find this useful

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great 2p tent [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my limelight 2p tent two years ago, as a step up from a generic dome tent. I’ve used it mostly for car camping & short backpacking trips, and usually by myself. The steep walls, ridge pole, and the vestibules provide a lot of useable space; I usually use it solo, and it’s palatial. When I have had a roommate, it was not at all cramped. love the lightweight metal tent poles as opposed to the fiberglass I was used to (which would always split and splinter). Only real complaint is that the rain fly started to leak a few months ago - but it’s been a few years, and some nikwax should make it good as new.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kept me dry! I earned a tent in a wellness challenge at work. After a lot of research, I picked the Limelight 2P. Was a great choice. First solo trip out in the BWCAW of Northern MN - four days - rained hard, every nite. One of the days there was a measured 3' inches locally. I was in the tent from 8 pm to 10 am the next day. Stayed dry thru the trip. good roominess. The footprint worked great, but I always put a liner inside the tent as well. Would not have needed it. Water pooled around the tent but did not come over the top of the foot print. Set up was easy, so was packing/unpacking. Never got to enjoy the star gazing opportunity because I couldn't take the rain fly off. Experienced a lot of condensation on the interior of fly/vestibules, even with the 2 top vents open. All around, a great canoe camping tent. Highly recommend this, especially for solo trippers. If using it as a true 2 person tent, the people should be pretty close - because they will be!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like it. I bought this tent because I had a Marmot Limelight 2p that I bought back in 2011 that has made it through 6 years of hard use and put up a pretty good fight. A few weeks ago I finally put a hole through the sun faded rain fly. I am a backcounty Ranger and have probably slept in this tent for over 400 nights during my 6 years of having it. It has been pitched in the backcountry of the sierras for 5 months straight and has been taken out for weeks in the greater Yellowstone area before making its way with me to the desert, not to mention traveled coast to coast on numerous personal trips, including a 4 month road trip. Its sad to see this tent go, but I am not disappointed in my purchase as it has held up better than any tent I've owned. Plus, the new tent has some updated features that I've been pretty stoked on, like the 2nd door/ vestibule and headlamp storage pockets- which are way more useful than the old attic. I also like the meshing patterns better, with the complete mesh top and full nylon bottom; it works better in rain that's blowing sideways and is better for a rain fly-less stargazing nights. While other crew mates and rangers tents have leaked during endless downpours or zippers failed during the height of mosquito season, this tent kept me out there enjoying what I love to do. I have never felt compelled to write a review before, but Marmot makes a great product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just do it I absolutely love this tent! Perfect for sleeping with the fly off and star gazing while camping or backpacking. I do wish both sides of the tent opened the same-one opens almost 360 and the other is just about 180, not sure why but it would be dope if they both opened 360. Also wish there was a canopy up top to hold things and the upper side pockets were more user friendly-they are slanted so it’s really kind of hard to hold anything in there. There are great pockets on the bottom inner sides of the tent that are meant to hold the screens when keeping it open where mosquitoes must not be a thing. Overall, this is my favorite tent thus far and highly recommend it! Very large for 2 backpackers. Giant vestibules.
