Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gun! this is a great rifle. it shoots great with just the iron sites. however, i have put a 3-9 scope and a bipod on it, it still shoots just as good and looks a lot cooler. i use it for ground hog hunting and target shooting. i have had no problems with the rifle at all. it will shoot Dimes at 50 yds and i can puth the entire magazine through the same bullet hole at 40 yds. the gun cycles reliably and has very few jams when useing quality ammo. very nice gun for the money and would deffintely recommend it to anyone wanting a reliable consistant shooting gun. (shoots much better than any 10/22 ever does)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good rifle I purchased this rifle in camoflauge (Model 60C) for hunting and plinking. Although it's heavy compared to my old Remington Nylon 66, it's a joy to shoot; I just wish that it had sling attachments. It's accurate, and has a pretty doggone good trigger. Mine had a pretty rough action, though; I spent several hours polishing it to a mirror finish to get rid of the grittiness. Once it's been broken in, though, it's a real treat to shoot. If you're looking for a great little hunting or plinking toy, you really can't go wrong with a Marlin. I am deducting one star because of the rough action.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Classics never get old I went to Gander Mountain to get a Savage 64-but they were our of stock. All it took was to shoulder the Marlin 60 and I was sold. I've had other .22's, including a Ruger 10/22, Marlin 795, Henry H001, and a Marlin 25-but I have always wanted a Model 60. Other than the trigger guard, Buffer and butt-plate, it is all steel, brass and aluminum. It feels good in hand, and is just the right size. It just goes to prove sometimes "old school" is the way to go. You can't go wrong for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best value...the poor man's Ruger 10/22 The Marlin 60 is the most popular selling .22 semiautomatic rifmire on the market. It has been in continuous manufacture since 1960. There have been changes over the years that have only improved the rifle. This newest model features a hold-open bolt after last shot...this saves wear-and-tear on the firing pin. These are reliable and accurate to 75 yards. Just about every gun owner has (or had) one. Rarely do I hear a negative comment about them. This is a pleasure to use in hunting, target shooting and plinking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth Picked this up and immediately went out and ran 150 rounds through it. First 50 were not free of problems. 2 FTL, 3 FTE and a FTF but after 3 tubes of ammo and a little oil it is fine. Next 100 rounds were failure free with cheap Remington rounds. May pick up a second. Watch out if you use the included lock. The padlock can hit the stock and is heavy enough to mar the surface.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Has Potential, Needs Fixing Beautiful gun, I have other Marlins and they perform spectacularly. I bought this a few months ago and shot it the day I got it. I didn't even finish shooting through the first tube, and it stovepiped. I cleared it, and continued. A few shot later, and it happened again. I took it apart and cleaned it very well. While putting it back together, the recoil spring broke. I ordered a new one from Marlin a few weeks ago, and still haven't received it. Has potential to be a great gun, just needs a good recoil spring.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome .22!!! I have shot a lot of 22s and I have to say that this is the one of the best. I do have to say that when I took the gun apart for the first time it had a lot of wood dust in the action from the stock. I would recommend a good cleaning before use. I'm not sure if that is common or not though considering this is the first gun I've owned. Other than that it is an excellent firearm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent for small game The rifle shot well right out of the box, I haven't had any issues with it and I have ran over 500 rounds through it.

Is this gun better then a ruger 10/22? its reliablilty and accurace really beat the ruger...

Asked by: dime@200yrdsw/rifle
It is extremely accurate. Mine is approx. 31 years old and never had a problem with it. I have fired thousands of rounds through it. The action gets a little sticky after about 500 or so rounds of dirty ammo. Great buy. The only thing I don't like about the new ones, are they they are a couple of inches shorter than the older ones to become "New Jersey" compliant. The older ones will hold 18 rounds vs. 14 in the new ones.

Can this weapon or any weapon be purchased on line?

Asked by: Tom
Yes ... Why do people answer this question wrong..?? You can buy this gun online but not at a store like dicks or walmart.. You can buy it at Gunbroker.com or another online dealer but you must find someone with a FFL and arrange for the gun to be shipped to them and have the paperwork filed and after 3 business days (as long as the FBI doesn't deny you) The FFL holder will transfer the gun to you ( for a fee of course )
