Additional Information
Perfect for your home safe, Liberty's 12" Dry Rod Electric Dehumidifier is designed to raise the temperature inside the safe, thus absorbing unwanted moisture. The Dry Rod heats to a surface temperature of around 100-120 degrees F, creating a natural convection that slowly circulates warm, dry air throughout an enclosure on a 24 hour basis. Expansion of the heated air forces the moist air outside through the small cracks on safe doors, leaving the dry air inside, protecting your firearms and other metal valuables from rust. Liberty recommends mounting the Dry Rod horizontally at the bottom of the safe for best results, but demumidifier can be mounted against a wall as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple product, good results I am using this in conjunction with dessicants to provide an additional layer of protection to my firearms from oxidation. This unit mildly heats the air in my safe to eliminate any additional moisture that may occur from the changes in temperature in my garage. I have had for 3 weeks and it is working fine. I would recommend, as this is slightly cheaper than others (about $10 less)[...]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what its supposed to do. This little device keeps humidity out of your gun locker. The power cable comes disassembled so that you can feed it through the security hole(s). Its very easy to put together.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage Ive had this liberty dehumidifier for well over a year. It actually seemed to make it more humid in the safe while moisture collected at bottom of safe. I have an 16-18 gun safe and I went to get a gun out and saw some mold then I found all the guns stocks were molded. this is a horrible product I recommend the sylica dehumidifiers.

The answer above to the question about size says the unit is 12-18 inches. Which is it, 12 inches or 18 inches? Also, how many watts does it draw?

Asked by: JIM B
The answer is "not long enough ". My 12" is a total waste of time . They sent a new one to me that doesn't work at all . I wouldn't want a free one !

Welcome to the club . My Liberty only gets to about 90*. It is a total waste of time . Everything I read says put the longest one that will fit horizontally . My best humidity level was about 56% before I bought a room dehumidifier . Liberty sent me a new one that is room temp at best!! I hope to get a refund and buy a real one .
