Additional Information
Ultra-lightweight and hunt-ready, the Irish Setter VaprTrek Camo Snake Boot combines the soul of a hunting boot and the sole of an athletic shoe. Irish Setter's breakthrough RPM composite technology reduces the weight of the boot by 40 percent as compared to traditional big-game hunting boots without sacrificing comfort, durability, or stability. The rugged, full-grain leather upper is printed in a Realtree Xtra camo pattern for maximum stealth. UltraDry waterproof technology ensures that feet stay dry and breathe easily. The ScentBan lining helps control odors by killing odor-causing bacteria, so feet stay fresher longer. Underfoot comfort is enhanced with an anatomically correct polyurethane and high-rebound foam footbed with a ScentBan top cover. A memory foam collar forms to fit the ankle for comfortable stability in the boot shaft. The wraparound instep provides added protection and aids in gripping treestand rungs or ATV footholds. Armatec heel and toe protection helps guard against ground hazards. The CuShin Comfort Tongue offers long-lasting comfort in the shin area. The dual-density RPM outsole boasts a bi-directional lug pattern for increased traction and balance during heel strike and toe-off. The speed-lacing system with one-tug tightening provides fast, snug lacing. Uninsulated. 17" shaft height. Weight: 3 lbs. 10 oz. Medium width. Imported.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DON'T EVER STOP MAKING THESE! These are by far the lightest most comfortable hunting boots I've worn! I hunt the swamps of South Florida, all the way to the woodlands of North Florida. We have year-round hunting here, and I've put a year on these boots probably hunting over 100 times. They are super comfortable. While no boot other than a rubber boot Is completely watertight, I have to save these come pretty close! Walked through water for 20 minutes with water almost up to the edge of my boot, and only got a few drops in. Socks were a tad damp but not soaked. I will buy these every time I need new boots!! Thankfully I have not had to test out the snakeproof part of them yet!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Comfortable, not waterproof I would love to give these boots a 5 star review, but I'm giving them a 1 star review. I hunt in swampy environments in mid Alabama. I don't stand in water but I have to travel through puddles and creeks. When I first got the boots I thought I finally found the perfect combinaiton of comfort and utility. I was wrong. I bought the boots in November and by February they were no longer waterproof. They have no rips or punctures. They don't leak as much as the water saturates. If the most water you contact is dew on the grass, these boots are the best snake boots I've ever worn. If you have to step in a puddle that is deeper then 2 inches, save your money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor product management I bought a pair of these boots two years ago so I have two seasons worth of experience with them. They are very comfortable to wear, as I would expect from any Irish Setter boots. They are also well built and fit my feet well as expected. However, the concept of an insulated snake boot is absurd. It was obviously developed by someone with very little knowledge of snakes. Venomous snakes are only active in warm weather; never cold. If it is cold enough to need insulated boots, then you will not have anything to worry about snakes. Snakes are only active in warm weather when you don't need insulated boots; they are never active in cold weather.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ridiculously comfortable, but NOT waterproof. I bought these boots in May and had no issues with them throughout what was a very dry PA summer. The first day of pheasant hunting was a super wet one, and was the first day I actually needed the waterproofing. 30 minutes into hiking through wet brush in the rain and my feet were already soaked completely through and squishing and frozen cold. Mind you I was wearing jeans + waterproof coveralls OVER the boots - Ankle up was bone dry, which means these boots soaked through the bottom, probably the worst way to allow water into the boot. Disappointed because these are easily the most comfortable snake boots I've ever worn, and they are wicked expensive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very comfortable, lightweight I have high requirements and demands on boots I purchase. In my life I have hiked, climbed, hunted, and fought (USMC) some of the toughest ground earth has to offer. While price is important to most, boots are truly an investment -get what feels right or don't buy them, price is secondary. If your feet are miserable, then you will be miserable... Been there, done that.. My priorities are: - Comfort & support - Waterproof, yet can breath - Good ankle support - Quiet, ability to walk with little to no noise (ever notice how some boots make a loud thud when you walk in them?# - In this case snake protection #South GA has some big snakes# I went to every store in the greater Atlanta area that offered snake boots and tried on everyone I could find. These felt perfect from the moment I put them on.. After having them for over a year #with MANY hunting trips) they still feel great and have held up through some nasty stuff... I would purchase these again without hesitation....

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Comfortable but not waterproof for long I live in Alabama where we have to deal with snakes almost all season long. I bought these thinking they would hold up to crossing streams and shallow puddles. Nope! I was bad wrong. The waterproofing lasted about 2-3 months. Sent them back and got a new pair only to have the same issues and they’re no longer under warranty. The boots are pretty comfortable, but the waterproofing is the worst I’ve ever seen from a boot, especially one in this price range. If you don’t need them to be waterproof they’ll be good but anything more than a light dew and you’re gonna be wet!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are the lightest snake boots. Having just purchased these boots I am one happy hunter. These boots feel great and are sooooo light. I just cannot wait for the 2017 bow season to get here. I will be testing these bad boys in one of the most snake infested refuges here in Louisiana. Thistlewaite refuge is also known for some big racked deer and one tough place to hunt. Also I hunt in the marshes of south Louisiana where there are plenty of snakes. I believe these boots will handle what I am about to put them through because I feel comfortable wearing these boots. Thank you Red Wing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love them I bought the snake boots, due to my kind of work. I am a security gate Guard for the Natural Gas pipelines in south Texas. And I am on ranches were there is a possibility of snakes in the area. I bought this kind of boot back in October of 2018 and I plan on getting me another pair. I recommend these boots to all my friends and coworkers. They are a comfortable to wear, I wear them all the time. Everyone I come in contact with ask me where did I get my boots.
