Rated 5 out of 5 by from Installed as Shoot thru Hull Transducer The box does not mention, but the transom mount transducer included with this can also be mounted as a shoot thru hull type. The installation manual has detailed instructions for doing this. Kudos to Overtons for providing the installation manual on their site so you can verify something like this before buying. This was very easy to install and worked great. The only items needed were a hole saw for the dash, 2 part epoxy for the shoot thru hull installation, an inline fuse holder, some zip ties and some wire crimps. For my small Stingray I/O boat, epoxying the transducer about 12 inches from the rear, dead center worked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Judge a product by its manual Unfortunately summer's over in Michigan and the boat had already been pulled for the winter when I installed the depthsounder so can't attest to how well it works. However installation was a pure pleasure. The control head, transducer and all the other little parts appear well designed and flawlessly manufactured. They should get an award for the instruction/installation manual. It was clear and comprehensive and obviously written by someone who understands the product and the English language (thank you Humminbird!). Based upon the experience so far expect to be fully satisfied with its performance next summer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from poor advertisement I use the depth sounder as the main means of checking the water depth--dash mounted with see through hull mounting. Simple to use, just set the shallow depth alarm the max depth if desired. Can be used to set the depth interval for fishing. I use mine with an LCR 2000 Hummingbird fish finder. Had it for 20 years or more. The only thing was the price--I could have got it from Hummingbird for 99.99 One thing--this 650 unit was a replacement for the 600 unit which was about 10 years old

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome performer This has become the running gauge I rely on most. There are many shallow areas where I run and this gauge gives me confidence to safely go where I haven't gone before. Easy to read, even on a bright, sunny day. I installed this gauge on my dash amid my other gauges and it's simple to glance at it while running and watch my depth. The transponder and wiring were easy to install and the instructions were very clear and easy to understand. I would highly recommend this gauge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed I just bought a new pontoon boat, and wanted some extra peace of mind, so I bought this depth finder to mount in-dash. We had a bad drought last year I was worried about damaging my boat in shallow water. the lake I use is still down about a foot from normal. My 1st time out the depth finder worked great. My boat and motor still looks like it came off the show room floor. The unit was very easy to install.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works like a charm the product works as advertised. The installation was straightforward. The instructions were fairly detailed and accurate. it still requires a commitment and a willingness to drill into your boat, on the outside. we tested it this past weekend and the depths was exactly correct, and it continued to work at full speed

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to install. No 1 amp fuse included The unit is easy to install. However, it does not come with a 1 amp fuse that is needed for the depth finder to work. That is the only downfall to this depth finder. Make sure you order a 1 amp fuse with buying this unit so you can have it working right away.

Is there any wiring that needs to be done? Will this work on my Chaparral 310?

Asked by: LaRock5
There is wiring that needs to be run and this has no application that it can not work on. If you are wondering if this will work on your boat, just know that this product will work on your boat if you install it correctly.
