Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gun I bought this gun just to shoot targets. And very impressed. Its a bulky, ugly but very reliable. Shot 500 rounds on my first try and no problems. No jams, nothing happened to this gun. Love it. Hi-Point has improved a LOT. Can't bit the price for a new gun.

Hello, I have been looking over the product line of Hi-point hand guns. It appears this gun is smaller than the others. Is this true or an illusion? If it is smaller, can you get the same smaller size in the 45 APC? Thank you...

Asked by: Dan the man
The 40 & 45 have a four inch barrel & 9 has a 3.5 inch barrel 8-shot

I'm currently in Virginia but also live in NYS where I have a gun permit. Can I order a gun online from Virginia to be held for me in NYS. I will be returning to NYS in mid-May.

Asked by: Eddie
You can only purchase a handgun in the state you are a resident of. If you are a legal resident of New York than we can ship the firearm to your local store in that state. If you are a resident of Virginia the handgun would need to be shipped to a store in Virginia or a local FFL.

I am looking to buy my first gun for home safety. Would this make for a good first gun? Any suggestions for anything else to look at? I have a concern for amount of recoil as I have bad wrists as well.

Asked by: Dewy
That is a million dollar question - and one with a million opinions. Are you comfortable and familiar with handling a gun? I would recommend contacting a local sportsman's club and finding out when the next NRA sanctioned safety course is. Perhaps go to a local "rent a gun" pistol range and try a variety of different handguns and calibers to see what feels best for you. If you have bad wrists and recoil is an issue, I would recommend a larger frame, smaller caliber handgun than this - something like a Smith & Wesson M&P22 perhaps. The .22LR round is not the best round for defense but the ammo is much cheaper and the recoil much lighter which will be better on your wrists. Combined this means you can practice more and therefore make yourself a better shot. It is better to have the ability to shoot 10 rounds of .22 accurately than 10 rounds of 9mm where you are flinching with every shot because it hurts and the bullets are going everywhere but the target. Whatever you decide on, make sure you take a course in safety and practice, practice, practice. If you have decided you want to own a gun to protect your life it makes sense to learn how to use it properly if the need (God forbid) ever arises. Good luck.
