Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Glock had a Baby! I really like the "Baby Glock" G27. I have been a Glock owner and carrier back from the 80's when Glock release Gen 1 G17. I currently have two G23 abd they have been my main EDC for 20 years . The G27 can still use all the G23/22 magazines plus all the G23 holsters I own. The G27 will fit in my large shorts pockets without any major "printing" on the fabric with an Uncle Mike #4 Pocket Holster. It is what it is, a cut down G23 by almost an inch on both ends that matter, which make is more concealable in your pants, but you still have 10 rounds (9+1) of full power 40SW and not handful of 380ACP. Very happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gun for carry, quite accurate Very good, accurate little gun. Some have complained that it is heavy, and it certainly is heavier than say a pocket pistol. But after years of carrying this in an IWB holster, I usually forget it's there and often even panic because I think I've lost it or left it at home, even though I check and it's there on my hip :) Despite its small size, though, it's quite accurate and will do the job when called for. The grip is a little thick, due to the double column magazine, so those with smaller hands may have an issue, but I otherwise recommend this great gun to anyone. Getting the +2 magazine extensions is highly recommended, to give your pinky a place to rest more comfortably, as well as to give you an extra few rounds...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Consistent and Accurate I chose a Glock for my CCW needs because of its reputation for build quality and reliability, and I'm glad I did. I chose the 27 for its firepower and relative concealability. No Glock is truly small, but this one is decent for inside-the-waistband or ankle concealment. I have average-sized hands and I found no need to use the larger mags with extended grips to acquire an effective firing position. Maybe most important of all: I absolutely love shooting this weapon. It is accurate and consistent, very reliable and just a sheer pleasure to operate. Of course it does have a decent amount of recoil, but practice should eliminate that concern. Good ammo will cost you at least $.50/round right now (spring 2013), so you wouldn't want to expend too many rounds on the range, but it will be hard to stop pulling the trigger, I promise.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good CC gun Glock always produces a great reliable gun. I use the glock 27 as a back up gun in service and use it as my "personal car gun". It shoots great, is always reliable and it wasy to field strip. The only thing I can say negative is the finish. Glock uses a finish on some of its models that just collects every single finger print or even shows discoloration due to being out in the field just a few hours. I just wipe it down with some rem oil once a week to keep it looking good. Overall great gun

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glock lover I purchased this product as a backup weapon for my job. At work I carry a Glock .40 cal and I wanted a smaller secondary weapon that would be compatible if in an emergency I needed to transfer magazines. It also works out very well as an off duty concealed carry weapon because of its size. I am already a huge fan of glock so I was very pleased with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love this gun I love this gun it's not to small but not to big and is easy to conseal. It's easy to use I have 2 mags with extenders and one with out and it's really no difference shooting with or with out them cuz the recoil isn't bad at all. I bought my 27 gen 4 for less then this gen 3 so do ur home work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect CCW pocket pistol. Best pocket CCW pistol you can buy for the money! I have had my Gen4 Glock 27 for 6 months and have fired 2000 plus rounds through it without a single malfunction. In all fairness I have only shot Speer Lawman and a few hundred rounds of Speer Gold Dots with this gun. It's always helpful not to use cheap ammo if reliability is important to you. I have upgraded my 27 with a Glock 23 4.02 inch barrel for a little extra stopping power should I ever need it. Drops right with no modifications and has made zero difference in concealment. Have Pearce +2 grip extensions on three extra magazine that I purchased and they do help with control but the gun is still easy to shoot accurately with just the two finger grip and stock 9 round magazines which is how I carry it in public. The mag extensions don't allow for a quick draw from the pocket and I'm on the heavy side so ISW holsters just don't work well for me. I do like the Pearce extensions for target shooting and I use them in the 27 when at home. Glock 32 and 33 barrels will also drop right in the 27 allowing you to change over to .357 sig ammo if you choose. I have had no issues shooting .357 sig ammo through my 27 with the 33 or the longer 32 barrel and I use the .40 cal gen 4 magazines. .357 ammo snaps a little more than .40 but pushes a little less but I have to hold a little higher on target when shooting with it. I like the .357 sig ammo allot but it is very expensive compared to .40 ammo. Nearly double the cost and it's harder to find on sale. The bottom line is the Glock 27 is a extremely reliable and versatile handgun. The only reason not to buy a 27 for CCW is if .40 kicks to much for you to control easily and put follow up shots on target. If that is the case then buy a Glock 26 9mm. I own a Gen 4 26 as well and the Glock 19 barrel will drop right in the 26 in case you were wondering. I prefer the 27 over the 26 but that is just my personal preference. My wife prefers the 26 with its lighter recoil. Either way you can't go wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very accurate subcompact The Glock 27 is a great addition to anyones carry collection. The gun is reliable, fast, and has just enough trigger resistance that you have to think before you commit to pulling the trigger (Good thing in self defense). The gun has no mechanical safety other than the trigger break, so you never have to worry about the gun being on safe in your time of need. This subcompact produced very VERY good results on paper (1" group with 4 shots @ 14 yards). I added a 3.8" twice ported stainless steel barrel, a set of tru-dot Mepro sights, and a Crimson Trace laser grip to increase it's usability, as well as a 1" - mag extender to place my pinky on when I shoot. I was a little hesitant with using such a small gun, and having carried a Springfield XD40 Subcompact before this, I was use to having a larger grip, but once I added this to the bottom, the gun was just as comfortable to shoot as my larger XD, while still holding true to it's compact nature. My only concern is that the gun with all my mods has become slightly heavier than the XD, and quite fat around the handle (mainly due to the laser grip). With the proper holster, it still conceals very well, but it's more noticeable for me that I'm carrying it, which is just a good reminder to make sure I know it's always there. "The best concealed carry weapon, is the on your want to carry"

Does it help if I have a concealed carry license when purchasing a pistol

Asked by: Moto
Speaking only for Texas, having a License to Carry when purchasing a handgun keeps you from having to go through the standard background check process. It makes buying a handgun much faster.
