Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Impressed I have had the P1 8" auger for several months now and I am more than impressed. The blades cut fast. My friend had an HC40 and we couldn't believe how much faster the P1 cut through the ice. He was so impressed that he sold his HC40 and bought a P1. The quality of the product also shines through. After using it for an extended period of time you can tell that Eskimo didn't skimp on the design or the parts used in this auger. Honestly, I couldn't believe how light it was too. At first, this made me skeptical, because how can something this light still have the power to cut through the ice. My worries quickly went away and I would recommend this product to anyone.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Might have a dud, big problems I bought this item the first week of January. First use it cut fine, second week it started failing me. Blades are sharp but will not cut through ice efficiently, will occasionally overheat and shut off. Just makes a lot of noise and spins in circles, and when you apply pressure it just overheats and keeps spinning without the trigger being held. Disappointed in the product, but might have a dud - going to try replace and refilling oil and that's all I can do for the time being.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent auger First time using auger started on 2 pulls. Cut first 3 holes excellent then began shaking and wouldn't cut. Found loose bolt in quick change adapter after tightening proceeded to finish hole, then bolt sheared off. Removed adapter and bolted (with new bolt) direct to auger haven't had shaking issue since. In cold weather (below 0 F) sometimes won't stay running if idling, then starts hard due to propane getting cold. Doesn't cut as fast as advertised, though an 8" inch blade (I have a 10") may help. Only other issue I have had is leaving propane cylinder attached to powerhead in very cold weather overnight led to the regulator failing and leaking the propane out of bottle. Had to purchase a new regulator. Overall auger starts well 2-3 pulls and runs well. Quick change adapter needs fixing due to loose fitting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eskimo P1 Rocket 10” Auger Bought Feb/March 2019 after using a buddies propane auger and seeing how easy it was compared to my older model gas 10” auger. I was also tired of fighting with carb issues every yr on old auger(different brand). I have 3 trips and about 25-30 holes on it so far before the ice left our area. It’s now stored until next ice season. The ease of starting and using is what is awesome about this auger. First start took bout 15 pulls, which directions do say may take longer on first start, but since first start it starts second pull every time. Cuts fast and does not bog down before breaking through ice. The only “on/off” lever/switch is the quarter turner handle in the gas line leading to engine. Very pleased with purchase so far, curious to see if I get the same results after storing for season. I am expecting no problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very impresssed I have had other augers throughout the years and this has been the best one that I have come across. I have had electric and gas. Gas augers are messy and you got to maintain the gas. The electric augers were slower and you needed to have your vehicle to run it. I like that I can just remove the propane cylinder and only have to keep oil for the crank case. It has no problem cutting through the ice and starting up, with minimal effort. This is a great product

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never had more problems Bought the auger because my jiffy has issues every once and a while and wanted a back up needless to say I purchased the rocket only to have it in the shop the next week for a faulty regulator had it fixed then the propane tank holder assembly broke which held the throttle wide open while running it and could not shut the auger off had to put it back in the shop and did not see it till ice was gone thankfully my jiffy was running still wish I never bought the auger

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Rocket Review I bought this product a month ago and it has worked fairly well. If the temperature is below 10 degrees it takes 6-8 pulls at times to start it. If it is above 10 degrees it starts usually in two pulls. The hose that connects to the propane becomes almost impossible to move if the temperature is below 10 degrees. Basically if the temp is about 10, the auger works great. If the temp is below 10, it works but can be a struggle to start and change the propane.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Auger This auger is far better than my last one that required a mixed gas, and was smaller. It fires up on the first pull every time, and never stalls out like my last rig. I cannot say enough positive things about this product. There is only one slight issue that I had, the clasp that goes around the propane cylinder does not funtion correctly...almost like the metal ring is too small, preventing it from clasping? Other than that, I have zero complaints.
