garbage tape
I bought a roll from Layton C.W, and as had used the product before (smaller roll from another source) I had no reservations on using it again. Well am not sure if it was on shelf too long or wrong paper was used for peeling off 2 sided tape but it caused me so much grief trying to use it. I applied it to vent underside, went back up on top of trailer, laid a small bead of leveling dicor and when tried to pull paper from exposed side of tape,, the paper kept peeling the tape with it. So back down from the trailer and went thru half a roll (approx 15") trying to get some tape that would separate from the paper, (wound up is pieces that some were stretched so thin had to double up). Needless to say I was one hot individual with anger as now it just compounded the work 5 fold. Next time will reorder online like I did the first time I used it, as that roll went smooth and paper peeled like its supposed to.

Total waste of money
This tape was useless. It had apparently been stored in a non-temperature controlled area which caused it to fuse permanently to the backing paper. It unrolled okay but once applied to a surface the backing paper would not release from the tape. I had to use a sharp blade to scrape the tape from the backer an 1/8" at a time. Very frustrating. Don't waste your money on this product.

Butyl-tape waterproofs our repairs!
This is the perfect product for waterproofing edges. We’ve used it on our camper roof repair, and to seal the two halves of our bass boat. It remains flexible and gum-like, so it will give a little and still remain waterproof.

Butal Tape
The brutal tape I received was stuck to the backing and would not peal off. I had to pick off the backing and piece together enough to cover the rail for a 13'6" slide topper. What a pain in the butt!!!!

Waste of money, waste of butyl tape...
The paper adhesive cover was almost impossible to separate from the tape. Ended up wasting a lot of butyl tape and will now need more to finish installation of roof vents. Will not buy this brand again.
