Delivering serious stopping power of more than 30 lbs., 13 Fishing's Concept A3 Baitcast Reel can tackle pretty much anything thrown at it. Rugged, hardened-brass gears and saltwater protection add up for a reel that withstands not only wicked atmospheric elements, but terrifying aquatic beasts, too. It all starts with the inside - where the A3 really shines. Cut with Japanese Hamai precision, the H.A.M. gearing is up to 37% larger than competitors for a wider, more stable connection to handle heavy max drag. These gears are made of hardened brass to be substantially stronger and thicker than those of other reels in the Concept A3's class. Corrosion-resistant bearings and a Dead Stop Anti-Reverse System allow for smooth retrieves, and the Bull Drag System puts the brakes on the hardest-fighting fish with over 30 lbs. of power.
To create a reel that's incredibly strong while yet lightweight, the Concept A3 features an HD aluminum frame, a palm side-plate that's made of Airfoil carbon, and a Beetle Wing gear side-plate for extra-easy access to your spool. The A3 Super Kick Lever is overbuilt and reinforced to handle extreme pressure, resulting in failure-free performance and long-lasting durability. Arrowhead line guide system allows for smoother casts and even line lay with less tangles. The whole reel has also been treated with the Ocean Armor 2 Saltwater Protection Process to allow for ultimate durability in the harshest environments.
